Thursday morning (Ukrainian time) Russian President Vladimir Putin declared the start of military operations in Ukraine.
Explosions were heard Thursday morning in several cities including Kharkiv, Kramatorsk, Odessa, and Berdyansk.
Air raid sirens were blaring in Ukraine’s capital as people fled in their cars.
There was a massive traffic jam as people tried to get out of the capital city safely.
CNN cut to a commercial break as they aired live footage from Kiev.. and the timing was brutal.
