DC Archbishop Wilton Gregory refused to comment on Pelosi’s stand on abortion this weekend but was quick to condemn the President and Melania Trump for protecting the White House against BLM and Antifa in June 2020.
In June of 2020 the White House was under attack. Gangs of BLM and Antifa rioters were outside the White House and threatening to break into the President’s home. President Trump called in troops to protect the White House but the Secretary of Defense refused to bring them. So the President needed to find another way to protect the White House and he did this by using National Guard troops and clearing out the area.
Once the area was cleaned out, the President walked over to the church across from the White House that had been set on fire by rioters and raised a bible as if to say, America and God are bigger than criminal rioters.
The left-wing corrupt media didn’t like what President Trump did. They hated America and President Trump.
The Catholic Archbishop in DC condemned the President in a political statement that was full of crazy leftwing garbage at that time.
FOX News reported at the time:
The Washington archbishop is facing backlash from Catholics for his scathing condemnation of President Trump‘s visit to the Saint John Paul II National Shrine, coinciding with an international religious liberty executive order Tuesday.
Wilton Gregory opposed the long-planned visit by Trump and first lady Melania Trump, who is Catholic.
“I find it baffling and reprehensible that any Catholic facility would allow itself to be so egregiously misused and manipulated in a fashion that violates our religious principles, which call us to defend the rights of all people even those with whom we might disagree,” the archbishop said in a statement.
“Saint Pope John Paul II was an ardent defender of the rights and dignity of human beings. His legacy bears vivid witness to that truth,” Gregory added. “He certainly would not condone the use of tear gas and other deterrents to silence, scatter or intimidate them for a photo opportunity in front of a place of worship and peace.”
The Rev. Wilton D. Gregory, archbishop of Washington issued a scathing condemnation of President Trump’s visit to the Saint John Paul II National Shrine Tuesday with first lady Melania Trump.
The archbishop was referring to Trump’s Monday night surprise walk from the White House to St. John’s Episcopal Church, amid the protests following Floyd’s death. Trump held up a Bible and posed for a photo. Prior to his visit — and a mandated curfew in the city — police officers took steps to remove protesters from Lafayette Park.
Brian Burch, the president of CatholicVote, a political Catholic organization, said Trump’s visit to the shrine and executive order should be “celebrated” by those who love the church and religious freedom.
This same Archbishop is now silent in regards to Pelosi’s stand on abortion where she claims to be a Catholic but supports the murder of children in the womb.
The Washington Examiner reported that Archbishop Gregory refused to comment on Pelosi’s stand for abortion.
Archbishop Wilton Gregory of the Archdiocese of Washington, D.C., has refused to comment publicly on whether he supports the barring of House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) from receiving Holy Communion in light of her stance on abortion, with his office saying in a blunt and mistakenly sent email to the Washington Examiner that requests “will be ignored.”
A number of bishops have come together in support of San Francisco Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone’s announcement issued Friday that because of Pelosi’s stance on abortion and her recent calls to protect access to abortion at the federal level, she should not present herself to a priest for Communion at Mass.
When a priest won’t stand for innocent children along with the church but will stand with BLM and Antifa rioters, that priest is not in sync with the laws of the church.
Archbishop Gregory should be ashamed of himself.
